Director Robert W. Goldsworthy has the distinction of being the senior member on the WRD Board of Directors. Since his election in 1988, he has served two terms as Board President. Director Goldsworthy is the Chair of the Groundwater Quality Committee and a member of the Water Resources Committee.

Mr. Goldsworthy has served as a Director of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California from 1991-1994 and has been a member of the West Basin Water Association since 1986. In April, 2002, he was elected alternate commissioner to the Los Angeles County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), representing independent special districts.

Director Goldsworthy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford University and a Master of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, both in the field of Chemical Engineering.

Director Goldsworthy represents Division Two, which includes the cities of El Segundo, Gardena, Hermosa Beach, Lawndale, Lomita, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Torrance, and portions of Los Angeles.
