WRD has completed its final High Efficiency Toilet (HET) distribution event for fiscal year 2005-2006 with a distribution of 1000 HETs in Inglewood.
WRD, in partnership with West Basin Municipal Water District and Central Basin Municipal Water District, has accomplished distribution of over 3,500 HETs in five events, which will result in a savings of over 48,146,000 gallons of water per year.
HETs flush at 20 percent below a Ultra Low Flush Toilet (ULFT), equating to 1.28 gallons per flush. The average savings for HETs is estimated to be 38 gallons per day when replacing an average, non-efficient toilet and 7 gallons per day when replacing a ULFT.
WRD, West Basin, and Central Basin will continue this program in the 2006 / 2007 fiscal year. To find out if an event is planned for your area, please contact your water company. |
