Angie Mancillas joined the Water Replenishment District in 2016 and currently serves as the Manager of External Affairs. In her role, she leads the agency’s government affairs, education, and outreach programming serving over 4 million people in the 43 cities within WRD’s service area.
Ms. Mancillas began her career as a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Public Policy Fellow in 2006. Prior to joining WRD, Ms. Mancillas served as the Director of Community Outreach for Congresswoman Linda Sánchez. She also worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant responsible for health care, labor, and education policy.
Ms. Mancillas earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Cerritos College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a Minor in Chicano Studies from the University of California, Riverside. She serves on the Board of Directors for the California Groundwater Coalition and the Pico Rivera Chamber of Commerce. Angie grew up in South Gate and is a huge fan of South Gate tap water.
